The appropriateness of the title here had been bothering me since I'd been publishing the new entries on a weekly basis so I've moved all the existing 50th Anniversary blog entries there and that's where I'll start to publish the ones for Season 2 starting in TWO weeks time!
I'd already got the 4 disc version but was interested to see what the differences are between the two.
So I got Excel to pull me a list of the the tracks and their lengths and compared the two to see which CD had the longer version, which tracks were exclusive to which CD and which were identical in length.
The results make interesting reading.....
The very small differences in length, a couple of seconds, can be accounted for by the track spacing in most cases. Essentially these tracks are the same.

But returning to our non showing episode on 4th July: the closest Doctor who has got to showing an episode on this day was the following year, 1964, when the first episode of The Time Meddler aired on the third and in 2008 when Journey's End aired on the fifth.
